DST Tajima Stitch File
If you sell decoration to other shops or push files between machines, DST is the lingua franca. Almost every commercial machine will read it.

ORIGIN
Originally the native machine format for Tajima industrial multi-heads; the most widely interchanged commercial embroidery format.
MACHINES THAT READ DST
- Tajima TFMX / TMEX
- Barudan BEXT / BEXY
- ZSK Sprint / Racer
- Most contract-shop multi-heads
HOW VALIDSTITCH HANDLES DST
ValidStitch parses DST stitch and command records, recomputes the design extents, and runs every applicable validation check. Color information is missing from DST by design — operator color sequence is recovered from the companion .EDR or .CON file when present.
COMMON GOTCHAS
- DST has no embedded color palette — sending a DST without a printout sheet leads to wrong-thread runs.
- Origin offsets vary by machine head — a design centered in software may not be centered in the hoop.
- Trim and jump commands look different across DST emitters; some machines stitch the jumps as visible threads.
