Switch between millimeters and inches in ValidStitch

Embroidery designs use millimeters by convention; American shops often think in inches. ValidStitch displays both — here's how to flip the default, and what 'tolerance' actually means at each unit.

Industrial embroidery files use millimeters internally regardless of where the operator works. Inches are a display preference. ValidStitch lets you flip the unit per workspace.

Steps · 2
Change the default unit
  1. 01
    Open workspace settings
Click your workspace name → Settings → Display preferences.
  2. 02
    Pick mm or inches
Tolerances, hoop sizes, and design extents will be displayed in the unit you pick. Validation thresholds don't change — they're stored internally in mm and converted for display.
